Both 4X2 and 4X4 versions were made, and this durable Chevy transmission saw service in everything from the Chevy Suburban to the GMC 3500 Dually.Information is provided for General Motors 3 speed, 4 speed , 5 speed and 6 speeds manual transmissions. Cast iron case and extension housing with 4-bolt side cover. Has non-synchro 1st and a "barrel" type 2/3 assembly. Units from 1940-54 have enclosed driveline, otherwise known as a "torque tube".
